Sisters Hannah and Emma Wojtowicz are an inseparable duo, having previously both been models in San Diego, California, which is where their first experience with the blushtan® company left a lasting impact on them. They now co-own their own blushtan® location in Pittsburgh’s own Shadyside neighborhood! BlushTan Pittsburgh is a local chapter of the organic sunless tanning company with various locations across the country. “Once we experienced our first blushtan™ in California, we were blown away by the natural looking results and the spa-like atmosphere of the studio. We knew that the babes of Pittsburgh would love this service and brand as much as we did,” the girls said.
Offering full-body, partial-body, and face-only tanning services, the two hope to change the sunless tanning game. We all know that despite how badly we all yearn for that sultry summer glow, being tanned by the sun is actually pretty bad for our skin. However, some spray-tans and tanning lotion can make you look uneven, blotchy, or at the very worst, orange! BlushTan Pittsburgh has three different blushtan® solutions that develop at different times, including one that can develop in as little as two hours. “If you need a last minute tan, we’ve got you covered,” ensured the ladies. They also offer mobile services for groups with discounted rates, appealing mostly to bridal parties and girls’ night out tanning parties.
In fact, mobile services were how the Wojtowicz sisters started out, before their permanent location opened its doors on June 23rd of this year. Thanks to the help of their boyfriends and father, what the sisters call the hardest part of starting their business was a breeze and the renovations look as beautiful and chic as Hannah and Emma do.
But it wasn’t just a good service experience that made these two dream up this business plan. While admitting that a simple example of their skincare background is just that they are “girly-girls,” Emma brings some extra experience to the table from doing makeup professionally. “We have researched different skincare products and techniques for years. Emma is a professional makeup artist for local retail corporations and works regularly on various skin types. With this, she is able to apply her knowledge to the service we provide at BlushTan Pittsburgh,” they explained. “We are passionate about organic skincare, and recognized the need for more organic beauty options in the area. Our blushtan® professional solutions allow us to mix over 100 different custom colors to provide natural looking results for all skin tones. We are proud to give our clients a guilt-free glow that they can feel good about!”
Next on the new boss ladies’ list is opening a second location in the North Hills of Pittsburgh by next year. When asked to share any final thoughts, Emma and Hannah wanted to leave their new audience with this: “We celebrate all bodies - no matter shape, age, size, or skin tone.
