Fall is in the air, and what better way to kick things off than with your favorite Fall drink, the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Make sure to snap a pic of it or it didn’t happen. Let’s get serious though… the PSL is SO last fall. There are so many more unique ways to be a basic b*tch this season, and I am going to give you some examples of how to make it happen in the Pittsburgh area.
First, enough with the leggings and fur boots. Fall is all about candid-appropriate attire. Layers, scarves, cute booties, and of course a fall shade lipstick. As mentioned in our January Issue of Moxie, Highway Robbery has both affordable and unique pieces. For those Fall fashion-forward trends this is a great place to grab some amazing pieces for your seasonal collection. Another amazing place to find trendy sweaters, pieces to layer, and adorable accessories is the online store Juniper and Honey. You can find so many affordable fall trends at both of these places. Check out their interviews and learn more about the shops in our January Issue.
Now that you have some ideas on what you should be wearing this Fall, let’s talk about beauty. Nothing complements an amazing wardrobe like an even better manicure. Social Media is thriving off the totally staged manicure pictures these days. Who wouldn’t like a picture of your manicure with a blurred out pile of leaves in the background? I know I would. Luckily, Moxie featured one of the most amazing beauty spots in the April Issue, Dallas Beauty Lounge. Dallas Beauty Lounge not can turn your nails into a Fall masterpiece, but they have incredible hair stylists that would be able to cut, color and style your hair the perfect way for Fall. As the seasons transition from summer to fall, the leaves begin to fall and our tans begin to fade. In our latest issue of Moxie, we met two sisters that opened an organic sunless tanning company called, BlushTan. Who says you need sun and harsh UV rays to stay bronzed all year long? The best part is, you don’t even have to leave your house. BlushTan offers mobile services that will only interrupt your Netflix binge for a moment. Find out more about BlushTan and their services in the August Issue of Moxie, and on Instagram: @blushtan_pgh.
I know I said that Pumpkin Spice Lattes were SO last fall, but if you do decide to that you are in the mood for a latte, support local businesses and head to Cyclops Cafe. Not only does Cyclops Cafe have a mean brew, but the shop itself is an Instagrammers dream. The shop is very aesthetically pleasing, and makes for a great photo. Cyclops offers specialty brews, as well as many other items. They are located in the heart of Bellevue, which is the perfect stop as you are checking out the other cute shops in the area. Cyclops Cafe is also very community based, thanks to the owner Jeremy Denniston. He makes you feel right at home even if it is your first time to the shop. Check out more about Cyclops Cafe in our May Issue and at: www.cyclopscafepgh.com.
As a basic b*tch, what do you think is the best way to consume tastes of Fall? If you guessed in alcohol, you are already on your way to being the BEST basic b*tch this fall. Pumpkin and seasonal beers are inevitably the best thing about fall, and let me tell you why. Number one, you get a buzz; number two, it is like an adult desert with that delicious cinnamon sugar rim; and number three, there are so many to try that you never get sick of them. Starting this month Coughlin’s Law and Ale House will be tapping into their Seasonal Beers. As mentioned in the June Issue of Moxie, Coughlin’s is located in the Mount Washington part of the city. They have an amazing menu, and an extensive draft list. The best part, they carry SO many local breweries. Coughlin’s Law and Ale House is the perfect place to cure all those pumpkin beer needs. Read more about them in our June Issue, and be sure to follow them on social media.
With all of these tips and suggestions there is no way you won’t be the most basic, trendsetting b*tch out there this Fall. Don’t forget to find a local pumpkin patch or sunflower field to really tie in the whole look before posting it all over your social media pages. If there is one thing I learned about being a basic b*tch over the years, is that you can be comfortable and still look amazing! Be sure to check out all of the previous issues of Moxie Magazine to stay up-to-date on all your “basic” trends.
