The National Performance Network Partners with the Kelly Strayhorn Theater for this Year's Confe

Every year, NPN bring together 350+ arts leaders from around the country to explore building a more just and equitable world through the arts. The NPN conference is a vibrant exchange of ideas that includes plenaries, sessions, workshops, performances, tours and special events. This year’s gathering marks the start of a new chapter for the NPN network, comprised of 77 Partner organizations and a diverse community of fearless artists and colleagues working in communities across the country. This year's conference runs Dec 13 -16.

The Kelly Strayhorn Theater is the perfect place to host many of this year's events. The theater celebrates diversity in voice, thought, and expression, and upholds a firm commitment to inclusion. KST provides a diverse and welcoming space for artistic expression. The Kelly Strayhorn Theater has a dynamic footprint in Pittsburgh, with two venues running along Penn Avenue. The KST Alloy Studios is a cultural hub in the heart of East Liberty, and the historic Kelly Strayhorn Theater is located in the thriving business district.

This year's conference itinerary includes everything from a talk on Emergency Readiness, to artist talks and performances. Check out the full schedule here.

Nearing the end of the conference will be a two-day performance presented at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, showcasing some of Pittsburgh's contemporary performance makers. Pittsburgh: Live and Onstage will include STAYCEE PEARL dance project, Bill Shannon, Anqwenique Wingfield, Afro Yaqui Music Collective, slowdanger and Blak Rapp Madusa. Most of these artists have taken residency or performed with KST in the past, further strengthening the community or artists in the East end.
